a million wrong passwords and temporary suspensions of lj later... [17 Sep 2007|02:47am]

so, randomly, i  thought i would check in on this journal. i didn't expect to get my password wrong about fifty times this past hour, but i guess i just have the perserverance of a hacker.

anyway, can i just say yikes?! i cannot believe i was so cringe-worthy a year ago. i guess i had a lot of growing up to do back then, and even now, i figure i still do. a lot has happened since i last wrote, a lot a lot a lot. for one, i'm in college now! i live in a house with two porches, one ground level, one overlooking the street, and i have a lofted bed. i've lost my shoe twice because of all the uneven bricks around here, and out of $100 dining dollars i have $18 left because.... well, i guess i have no excuse -- i just really, really love sushi, quizno's, and chik-fil-a and super appreciate them being less then a block away from where i'm staying. three cheers for convenience!

also, i've grown my hair out. which, okay, it sounds small and insignificant -- something totally and completely vain to mention -- but i'm proud of it! i haven't had long hair in... well, since that fifth grade picture where i looked strongly akin to pocahontas.

i've also developed a strange sleeping schedule since school started, obviously, because it's next to 3am and i'm home and due to head back downtown at 6ish.

there are other things i'm sure i ought to mention, but then it'd be one fat post and i would have nothing to update with later on if i so chose to. which, i don't know, i figure i might. i might take this up again, but probably not under this name. i figure i'll move to <lj user=tatonner>, which is french for "to grope" -- but yuck, not in that gross, sexual way. get your mind out of the gutter. literally it means to feel around in the dark for something you cannot see, which to me as a verb i really sort of loved for some strange reason. the imagery, i guess! but, yeah. i thought that to those who were still around these parts, i'd drop in a hello and maybe catch up to see how you all are doing. so, hey! how are you doing?

i don't like how dad will yell at me nonstop to vaccuum and then when i finally do he will just stand there and watch me and laugh. it's only because the dang vaccuum (how do you spell that, anyway?) is like half my size only heavier and i have no upper body strength. it is a painnnn!

in other news i finished my fashion merch project.

yayyyyyy. i'd procrastinated long enough on it. :P

i had a nightmare friday night that ran along the lines of the columbine incident, except in our auditorium. it was both really intense... and hilarious. i woke up during the first half and then fell back asleep where it continued. i was sitting next to one of the alleged shooters and i was all nervous and eyeing his humongous machine gun but then he turns to me and says, "i'm not going to shoot you, i'd rather watch the oc than shoot you."

...

hahahahaha. i don't know, i thought it was really funny. i woke up all "O______O" and then kind of laughed because of what he said. and then last night i had a dream we were driving across a bridge and then it started collapsing right in front of us so we floored it and zoomed over the water and safely across to land. i wonder what new, exciting death dream i'll have next! the school shooting one i had supposedly means that my income will increase, but i will have financial problems anyway. i haven't even looked up the bridge one yet. probly means the same thing. oh noes. :(

napoleon dynamite is everywhere at school, it makes me so happy. this morning nathan showed us the soles of his "liger shoes" -- they were orange striped on the soles, and then at lunch, jimmy asked if he could wear my glasses for a bit and then proceeded to do some really nifty napoleon and kip impersonations. he even put the canteen fries in his jacket pocket and i had to be the bully and say, "hey napoleon, gimme some o' your tots" and other stuff like that. and then jimmy stole joey's powerade and chugged it napoleon style (i had to be lafawnduh that time) and joey got mad and so i had to buy him another one. whatever man, i needed the exercise. and then in geometry ryan brought up ligers and we all got started on ligers and tigons, it was crazy! michael barton asked me if i liked the flaming lips (and he never talks to me, not even last year when we had algebra together), and i said i'd only heard of them, but he says their cds really great, got it last night.

two days till the films!!
oh and i need a haircut.

oh yeah, i never got to write about how in fashion merchandising i got to spin yarn! but now i just did, and i realize that's all i had to say about that. i had some spare cotton with me on the bus though, and i had gotten really really addicted to spinning yarn for some reason, so the whole time the bus lady took the long way home, i was just twirling and spinning away. i felt like i should've explained myself to the people that turned and watched for a while, but eh. i bet i'm like loser white-fuzz cotton-spinner girl now. or something. which is kind of funny because it's true.

super cold out. i hate it.

thing going around... [14 Jan 2005|03:47pm]

You Are 10 Years Old

10

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

haha. so, apparently arlene thinks it's funny that i just so happened to miss out on the most crucial part of a conversation (finding out a certain somebody's name). it happened at lunch, jimmy had just been telling me his friend's name, but i only heard, "i'm looking for ____." i was all disappointed because it was like in the movies where right when someone is about to reveal an important piece of information, an ambulance comes speeding past, sirens and all. weh. kind of like in hey arnold! where arnold's last name can never be revealed.

gosh, i am super tired and need a nap but i don't want to! i feel like i'm in kindergarten; i hated nap times, i always stayed awake during them and then pretended to be asleep when everyone else was putting their sleeping mats up. i don't know, i was a weird kid.

well, not was... joey says i still am a weird kid.

oh noes, and it's rainy and gloomy and normally i don't mind if i am inside or if i am un-tired, but i have to go out and buy fabric for my skirt to make in fashion merchandising at wal-mart and i just don't feel like it. :(

the felipe sisters are whinos today.

whoa, just woke up from a nap all hot and sore-throaty. except, not really sore-throaty because i think my bed's got a dust problem. gross, right? but, yeah, seriously. i think i need to go vaccuum on it, which i imagine will be weird and something i will run to my journal and write about soon after because i am bound to do something wrong like suck up my sheets and get in trouble for getting them stuck in the rotors. or whatever they're called. it might be that memory pad dad all bought us for our beds. it's like sleeping on a cloud and it's just as good as my dream bed, the nautilus. you know, the one in those late-night informercials made out of nasa foam that like conforms to "fit every curve and shape in your body, ensuring a good night's sleep" except you just insert it under your bed lining. so so cool, although i think the fibers and dust are like settling in my throat when i sleep.

... EWWWWW!!!

and speaking of sleeping, arlene claims that i snore really really loud, which i imagine can't be very attractive but oh well. when i think of my snoring i think of a buzzsaw and geez, i just sort of chuckled because i thought of BONESAWWWWWWWW!!! from the first spiderman movie.

anyway, before my nap, school was pretty awesome today and i loved it. i can add and subtract in french, i should whip some of that stuff out during geometry. our first sewing project for fashion and merchandising will be on friday. i think i'm going to make a skirt and we'll just see how that goes as i am a mere novice when it comes to those machines. i hope i don't sew through my finger like that guy did in project runway or whatever that show we watched at maggie's was called. ryan, one of the two boys in our class, is going to be making a pillow. i don't know why, but i think that is so cute. haha, a pillow.

drama was undoubtedly the highlight of today. there is a dead rat up in the ceiling above our classroom that no one can seem to unearth, and so because of the vile stench we got to hang out on stage again! we did more miming, this time in groups!! first we practiced miming a game of tug of war (boys against girls) and miss dertian would tell us which side was winning so we'd have to pretend we're struggling and sliding around and so on. she let the boys win, and so she turns to us and says, "well, girls, what happens when they pull really really hard and then let go?" and it was hilarious because we all mimed screaming and just tumbled backward onto the floor. it was a tangle of girls but we all got sorted out in the end. and then we did group pantomimes where we had to convey a certain emotion. fun, fun stuff. my group was awesome. we've got aggressiveness, infatuation, and loneliness down pat. what now.

geometry was all right. it's kind of my most boring subject, but it passes by really fast because mr. simmons keeps us busy. that i am thankful for! what was not cool was having to have the kids from bus 23 on bus 10 (our bus) and so we had to take this unnecessarily long route through stratford forest, cherry hill, bridge creek, planter's walk, the commons, bloomfield, gibbs forest, and finally my stop, piedmonte. feh.

so our little shindig is pretty much over, adults are still downstairs, but arlene and i have retreated upstairs to take turns playing yoshi's island. while playing around with angelica's three-and-a-half year old little sister, we watched napoleon dynamite and elf while the others ate. some of the uncles sat and watched napoleon with us - it was a hit! and then everyone gathered around the tube just in time to watch the glorious dance routine... it was so nice, i wanted to take a picture of everyone just sitting there, totally enraptured, from the living room to the kitchen.

before all that because i cannot seem to think in chronological order, the sis and i played and tried to keep alexis entertained. first we let her play with this i spy block-puzzle thing i got from a wendy's kids meal (i was kind of sad at how little of my childhood toys i'd kept over the years) and then we built her a fort and she wouldn't let any of us in it because it was her house. and then we put her in my room and tried to teach her how to play super nintendo. she learned how to color on mario paint, at least. and then we let her on the computer to watch spongebob (a.k.a. "ba-bob!!") videos and then she liked crawling up and down our stairs and running around and gosh, what a cute, cute kid. :)

i am beat, though. haha, i am such a bum.

so, this is the new year... and i don't feel any different. the clanking of crystal, explosions off in the distance. so this is the new year and i have no resolutions for self-assigned penance for problems with easy solutions. so, everybody put your best suit or dress on - let's make believe that we are wealthy for just this once, lighting firecrackers off on the front lawn as thirty dialogues bleed into one...

ahahaha, i did it, arlene.

so, auntie barbara had her annual new year's bash after all. fun times; hung out in the big entertainment room and watched movies till it was conveniently about 11:50! first we caught up with what i think the boys were watching, the chronicles of riddick. okay, yeah, dumb movie. i thought it was like triple X or whatever vin diesel's other movie was, but the people kept going on about a chronicle, so i put two and two together... anyway after that we ate, and my favorite pink cheesecake cubes were there so i was happy. then we went back down and watched the day after tomorrow while we ate and oh man that movie made me feel sooo cold. during the big snow storm arlene and i were like huddled together when it was really about sixty degrees outside.

dad and the uncles came in because they saw what we were watching and went :O and brought in their beers. after that they stayed to watch white chicks. "BASKING IN THE AMBIENCE!!" they really loved that flick. more than the day after tomorrow, i think. haha. and then right after that movie was done people started gathering in front of the big tv to watch the ball drop and it was nice and exciting. i want to spend a new years in new york someday.

somedayyyy....
2005, wow. gettin' old!
